Rob Gibran Recognized by WEDI


Rob Gibran has been chosen by the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) as the recipient of the Outstanding Subworkgroup Co-Chair Award for 2014. This award recognizes Subworkgroup Co-Chairs who have consistently contributed toward the growth, success, and impact their Subworkgroup has made on the industry. It was presented on October 24 at WEDI’s Fall Conference in Reston, VA. WEDI is named in the HIPAA law as an advisory organization to HHS and the industry on the implementation of Federal mandates related to transactions and code sets and privacy and security. Healthcare organizations across the country look to WEDI for assistance in meeting challenges such as the upcoming ICD-10 and Health Plan Identifier (HPID) requirements. Rob is a Senior Technical Consultant in the Health Data Standards Practice in Health Analytics and Integration at Cognosante. He is currently working a project related to South Dakota’s ICD-10 preparation, and has previously supported ICD-10 preparation in the states of Missouri and Arkansas. He serves as the co-chair of the ICD-10 Testing Subworkgroup for WEDI, leading participants from provider and payer organizations in planning and sharing industry best practices in preparation for the move to ICD-10 on October 1, 2015.
