Supporting Veterans Through Technology: TechForTroops

Each November, Americans observe Veterans Day with deep appreciation for all who serve—or have served. At Cognosante, we salute these brave men and women, and recognize the contributions and the sacrifices that Veterans have made.  

Part of our core mission is to ensure the health and well-being of Veterans by partnering with the government agencies to improve access to health services and enhance the consistency and quality of care that Veterans and their families receive.  

Each day, we’re committed to Veterans and their families through the work we do, in our hiring practices, and by supporting the Veteran community through our Cognosante Cares program.   

Veterans join Cognosante because we have shared values of integrity, honor, commitment, and duty. They know we offer meaningful career opportunities and the possibility of continuing their service to the nation as part of the Cognosante team. 

We are proud to support organizations that serve Veterans who are making the transition to civilian life and we are excited to support Tech ForTroops (T4T) with a donation of gently used Cognosante IT equipment.  According to T4T, many Veterans face two significant barriers when competing in the modern workforce: the lack of a computer, and the lack of skills to effectively use it. T4T provides Veterans in need with refurbished laptops and computer skills training for free, in partnership with other Veteran focused organizations.

In honor of Veterans Day and Military Families Month this November, Cognosante is proudly donating 40 used laptops, 3 servers, 3 switches, 1 access point, 1 router, and 1 firewall to T4T. Through this environmentally friendly program, lightly used, working laptops can be given new life. Once refurbished, the laptops will be distributed to Veterans or Veteran family members. With a mission to offer workforce support and training, T4T is helping bridge the digital divide for transitioning Veterans’ job searches, facilitating job training, and offering professional networking.  

We’re excited to support TechForTroops’ critical mission, which puts technology into the hands of Veterans and their families.
