Cognosante’s senior leadership took a break from transforming healthcare to transform the homes of three families as part of the Habitat for Humanity Build Day. On April 26, 2018, fourteen volunteers helped to construct and clean houses in northeast Washington, DC.
Starting early in the day at 8 a.m. and working into the afternoon, our volunteers installed insulation, put up dry wall, added support bars, cut lumber, and attached siding in the homes.
Habitat for Humanity DC is a nonprofit that helps build and improve homes in the DC area, ensuring that families have affordable and stable housing. Stable and decent places of living are foundational to strong communities and are in harmony with Cognosante’s own mission.
This was not only a great team-building exercise, but also a great way for our employees to give back to the local communities around the area.
