Helping to make the holidays happier for needy children

Thanks to the generosity of dozens of Cognosante employees, needy children in Arizona, Tennessee, and Virginia were able to enjoy Christmas last year by opening some unexpected holiday presents. Cognosante employees supported two national Christmas gift programs:

Toys for Tots
Led by Dan McQuay, John B. Zorich, and Brad Triebwasser, The BITS team in McLean, Virginia, collected unwrapped children’s toys for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots charity, which provides Christmas presents for children whose parents cannot afford to buy gifts. Cognosante volunteers in the McLean office collected more than $2,500 worth of toys and more than $3,000 in monetary donations for needy children in its community.

The Phoenix office also participated in Toys for Tots, setting up a pair of donation boxes in its building, thanks to Richard Abril, Irene Juergens, and Wendy Clark. The Phoenix office collected more than 100 new, unwrapped gifts for local children.

Angel Tree
The Nashville, Tennessee, office participated in Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program and adopted a local family of five, which included a single mother and her four children, all age 8 or younger. All 23 members of the Tennessee Integrated Eligibility Services Independent Verification and Validation team came together to purchase every item on the family’s needs and wish lists, which surely made their Christmas a very special holiday celebration.
