MCLEAN, Va. – April 12, 2016 – Cognosante announced today that it has been selected by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Arizona’s Medicaid agency, to guide completion of the state’s Medicaid Information Technology Architecture 3.0 State Self-Assessment (MITA SS-A). Mandated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the MITA SS-A is designed to help states assess their current and future operating environments and develop a roadmap for enhancing the capabilities of the Medicaid Enterprise.
With an over-arching goal of better serving consumers, the MITA initiative is designed to improve Medicaid program administration by fostering integrated business and technology transformation across the enterprise. Cognosante has been a MITA leader more than a decade, completing more than 35 MITA SS-A projects for state customers by providing proven tools, templates, models, and approaches in combination with expert consulting services. Cognosante will work with AHCCCS to complete a three-phase self-assessment of its Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) framework and associated processes as they relate to MITA objectives.
