FALLS CHURCH, VA—August 1, 2019—Cognosante, a leader in technology solutions for health and social services programs for Federal and state public health agencies, continues to deepen its commitment to the active and veteran military population. In July, Cognosante earned the Virginia Values Veterans (V3) certification and hosted the Department of Defense as they awarded Cognosante’s Karen Price with the Patriot Award.
Cognosante joins over 850 businesses supporting Veterans through the V3 certification program that helps employers implement nationally recognized best practices in acquiring, developing, and retaining highly skilled Veterans. The certification is a culmination of hiring plans and seminars completed by the Cognosante Talent Acquisition team to meet state requirements.
“Veterans are an integral part of the Cognosante workforce. We recognize that they bring invaluable experience to our organization. Transferrable skills such as leadership and teamwork are essential to our strategic growth plans,” said Founder and CEO Michele Kang.
Earlier this month, Cognosante President, James Gordon also signed the Department of Defense Office of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support. Cognosante has pledged to provide the tools needed to manage service members effectively. This recognition signified the company’s efforts to support those who currently serve in the Reserves or National Guard.
The commitment to job-seeking Veterans is a core tenet of Cognosante’s talent acquisition strategy into the future. “We believe that Veterans play a crucial role in building and advancing Cognosante’s organizational capabilities and customer-facing projects. Those who have served bring a unique set of skills to the table,” said Chief People Officer Jennifer Bailey.
Moving forward, Cognosante looks to make valuable Veteran additions to their organization in Virginia and other states as they transform healthcare for civilians and Veterans alike.
Cognosante provides technology solution and business process outsourcing to Federal, state, and local government health agencies. The company has nearly three decades of experience working with 48 states and the Federal government, developing, managing, and executing large, complex health information programs.
