Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Roger Isaacs, Technical Proposal Writer in the Falls Church office for Cognosante, captivates opera audiences around the world. A countertenor, Roger studied music education at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town. Soon after he began his solo career in South Africa, he gained recognition for his ability to perform everything from early music to works by 20th century composers.

Since making his American debut in 1997, Roger has performed as a soloist with some of the country’s most prominent choral organizations, and in prestigious venues, including the Kennedy Center Opera House, Washington National Cathedral, and New York City’s St. Thomas Church on Fifth Avenue. His wide vocal range has landed him in solo performances ranging from Monteverdi’s “Vespers” to Bach’s “Mass in B Minor.”

The Washington Post praised him as being a “countertenor quite extraordinary both for vocal quality and for his mastery of baroque style.”
