Cognosante and the State of Alabama Continue Driving Healthcare Interoperability Through New Patient Access Mobile Application

Cognosante, LLC today announced new technology enhancements that are providing State of Alabama Medicaid recipients more efficient access to their personal health information. The new Alabama One Health Record® (ALOHR) MyHealth™ mobile application, developed by Cognosante, provides Alabamians secure and private access to the health data they need to manage their care. This latest app release puts clinical and healthcare claims data in the hands of patients, making Alabama a leader in CMS Interoperability and Patient Access Rule compliance.

The ALOHR MyHealth solution delivers a new Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) interface, using modern data standards to securely enable patient access to health data. This access is complemented by the ALOHR MyHealth mobile application that presents the data in a patient-friendly, readable format. The application leverages Amazon Government Cloud (AWS GovCloud) to deliver demographic, clinical, and Medicaid claims data to Alabama Medicaid recipients and their dependents in a robust, secure and highly flexible environment. MyHealth™ was introduced to a small pilot group in July 2021, enabling Cognosante to engage their human-centered design methodology, JUVO™, to improve the user experience, and formally released MyHealth ™ to all ALOHR users in December 2021.
