When Joshua Gonzalez is not developing innovative healthcare solutions for Cognosante, he is busy coaching the local diving team at Strongsville High School in Ohio. Josh coaches the team of four girls and two boys for two hours every evening, Monday through Friday.
His volunteer work is in an area he is passionate about—he competed as a diver at Cleveland State University. He has been coaching age-group diving for about four years and high school diving for two years.
“While growing up, the diving community shaped me into who I am. It helped me become accountable and mentally tough, and showed me that with focus I can overcome obstacles and achieve feats I didn’t think possible,” Joshua says. “Working with these kids as they grow as both athletes and young adults is a fulfilling and rewarding experience. To give back to a community that gave me so much means a great deal.”
