On November 8th, 2019, Cognosante’s Falls Church office celebrated Veterans Day by honoring those who have and continue to serve our country. Thanks to a few Veterans of our own, we hosted a military show-and-tell, displaying equipment, uniforms, and other keepsakes common to service members.
Chris Valdez, Veteran Recruiting Liaison, explained how each item functions and included stories from his own military experience. Veteran-owned Dog Tag Bakery provided sweet treats for everyone to enjoy and a wall of gratitude honoring Cognosante Veteran employees was displayed in the Hub. Employees had an opportunity to walk in the shoes of a soldier by trying on various military equipment, and left the experience grateful for Veterans and their ultimate sacrifice.
We also kicked off our Soldier’s Angels Holiday Stocking Program, an initiative that—through cards and stuffed stockings—provides support to military families, wounded heroes, deployed service members, and veterans. A call for stocking stuffers (snacks, games, and other holiday-themed items) is still underway.
