FALLS CHURCH, VA – September 12, 2019 – Cognosante recently introduced its new Cognosante State Solutions (CSS) group at this year’s Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference (MESC) in Chicago, IL. The conference boasted a packed agenda with industry leaders and Medicaid officials who presented on a range of state health IT topics. From Operations to Interoperability to Innovation, the themes of MESC 2019 were a perfect springboard for Cognosante to introduce its new Cognosante State Solutions (CSS) group and share how we are working to bring innovation to state health programs.

Cognosante Principal Mary Kay McDaniel moderated a workshop to share best practices for successful state-level Medicaid program implementation of the HL7 DaVinci Project. Cognosante is a founding member of the Project, and Ms. McDaniel discussed how to accelerate adoption of HL7® FHIR® standards in the service of value-based care (VBC) data exchange across communities.
Cognosante’s Director of Engagement Solutions, Michael Zurat, showcased the future of pediatric care with a session on humanoid robotic applications for pediatric populations. This well-attended talk included an invitation for state hospitals to join a pilot program aimed at reducing cost and improving pediatric health outcomes through the creative use of humanoid robots like Cognosante’s PepperBot, manufactured by Softbank Robotics.
