As Cognosante’s Chief People Officer, Mustafa El Rafey is responsible for acquiring, managing, and developing great talent; building and advancing organizational capabilities; driving employee engagement; and structuring the organization to advance the company’s aggressive growth plans.
Before joining Cognosante, Mustafa held various human resources and corporate leadership roles in globally recognized consumer goods, retail, and ecommerce companies. In his last corporate role, Mustafa was the Senior Vice President, U.S. Human Resources and Global Talent Management for QVC, a $9 billion global TV and ecommerce retailer. In that role, Mustafa was responsible for leading the strategic and operational people agenda for the U.S. business as well as shaping and driving the Human Resources centers of expertise for QVC globally.
Prior to QVC, Mustafa was Senior Vice President, Global Talent Management for Starbucks based in Seattle, WA, where he was responsible for creating and deploying integrated talent management solutions to attract, develop, and inspire employees to bring the Starbucks mission and growth agenda to life.
Mustafa began his career at Mars, Incorporated, one of the largest privately owned global consumer goods companies, where he held various leadership positions of increasing responsibility in Sales, Marketing, General Management, and Human Resources working in Europe, the Middle East, and the U.S. over 20 years.
Mustafa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to developing and delivering high-impact, business-relevant organization and human capital solutions. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a postgraduate diploma in management studies from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.
